I think that Jimmy should decide now as its HIS game, and the discussion could last a million years because basically all the people in the top half of the list will want the status quo, and all the peope on the bottom half will want the usual CW way with the odd rounds randomly generated.

Admittedly, approaching the first pick by R9 is little use to me as all the ATGs will be gone by R5 at the very latest.

International Coach
I think what Jimmy has decided is fine. As Watto said its his draft and to be honest, I picked my player based on my position in next 5 rounds. I could have gone with Hutton or Khan but picked Hadlee by keeping it in my mind that I might not get the No.1 position in Round 3 ( Random ones ).

Ok, let's just keep playing. The conveyor belt method isn't perfect but it's what we all agreed upon. Monk/Coronis - you're up.

That conveyor belt thing is quite a killer.
I agree. Now that I've thought about it, the people that benefit most are those who sit 4-5-6 on the R1 list. This is because they get relatively early picks in the first 4 rounds when all the big name players are still on show. This is especially important because the terms of the Draft mean that already about a quarter of Test players are unavailable for selection (And I'm sorry Himannv, but being first on the R1 list was just about the worst spot to be in).

In other words, it is likely that people very early in the R1 order, or late in the R1 order, will miss out on a Gold Tier batsman just because they happened to chose a Gold Tier bowler first, and vice versa.

What this means is that I have to be more creative than usual and take some extra risks - this isn't a bad thing.

Note: Just thought about it again: Now I'm not so sure because the gaps between picks are equal for everyone. Now really confused.
