I suppose the SA side of the 90's and early 00's counts as far as the batting is concerned. No real class act till Kallis pushed on yet they got away with it by batting so deep.

Goddard, Mitchell and Herb Taylor in for Larwood, Gower and McCabe. That's pretty descriptive of both of us.

I had Grace for Trumper too. Would've picked Trumper if I was looking at it as a Tests-only type thing though, which I probably should've given the spirit of it.

Have England had anyone averaging 50+ or under 25 remotely recently?

Edit: Nope, not regular players at least. Last batsman was Ken frigging Barrington.

Bresnan for a bit.

Tremlett is close I think, but not quite. Same with Cook, who probably should've made that side FJ posted.

Gillespie
Kumble

Kumble averaged 32 post-2000, oddly. Sehwag well down on an average that I'm pretty sure was mid-fifties just a couple of years ago
