Disagree. Sehwag could have easily played out the series with India 2-0 up. No one would have blinked if he kept playing.

Obviously Ishant still playing is ****, but Zaheer is an old fat slow **** who can bowl but can't field and cbf batting. Was time to move on.

Um, that's more than what Ishant can do, even at that age lol.

Man I'm not saying play Ishant ahead of Zaheer. I'm saying don't play both of them.

He may have had a opinion but he wasn't a deciding factor in any of those decisions, i don't think.

Zaheer was injured anyway before this series and missed the Ranji final and Irani trophy. He might have been back for this series actually if he was fit after the England loss.

And knives were out for Sehwag for a while. Probably could have lasted the series, i guess. But they took a long while to drop him.

Look, I'm not Duncan fan. And I am on the whole of the view that if you're going to rag on Dhoni in the losses, Duncan must also be blamed, even if his strength is "building a team and not running an established team".

But 4-0, Duncan has to get some credit, as does Dhoni. It may not wipe out the negatives from 0-4 0-4 and 1-2, but you can't just say "Duncan's moves anyone would have done". That basically means he cannot be given credit ever.

sounds good to me. great idea.
Indians can't bowl - Where has the rumour come from as I myself and many indian friends arwe competent fast bowlers ?

With the English bid I said: Let us be brief. If you give back the Falkland Islands, which belong to us, you will get my vote. They then became sad and left

But there's nothing to suggest these were his moves anyway. Not even media reports saying that he was the one pressing for this. It's a tough one whether how much you can blame him or credit him as there's no way of telling as he has largely kept a low profile and doesn't have Chappell like powers.

You can basically judge him on what he has added to the team visibly vis a vis what it was before in terms of strategy or coaching etc.. Because say someone like Gary Kirsten did well in terms of preparation of tours, tried and asked for more tour matches as much as he could. Brought in Paddy upton as mental conditioning coach and different bowling/fielding coaches which showed results over time and even in terms of strategy there weren't as many WTF moments as there have been since though Dhoni has to take more blame for this.

Should apply that to Srinivasan who is now trying to take credit for not allowing the sacking of Dhoni after Australian tour -

BCCI president N Srinivasan hinted that the board's constitution gives him the power to approve any decision of the national selectors, including that on the captain. When a news channel asked Srinivasan whether there was substance in the media reports that selectors were under pressure to sack MS Dhoni after India lost four Tests in England and another four in Australia but you had backed him, all that Srinivasan said was "it is not proper to discuss selection matters. The constitution of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) does say that the president has to approve the national team."
When the anchor rephrased the question and asked, "So, you have the last word as president? Srinivasan replied, "That's what the constitution of the BCCI says." Asked whether Dhoni should choose to quit the shorter format of the game as suggested by some experts, including former captain Rahul Dravid, Srinivasan said it is for the selectors to take the call. "The selectors are there to take a call. We have an experienced group of selectors. It is for them to decide. But personally I feel that Dhoni is discharging the duties [captaining in all three formats] well," he said.
Srinivasan hints he saved MS Dhoni from being axed

On a slightly tangential note, why would anyone call for Dhoni to give up limited overs cricket? Saha could probably replace him in the Test XI, but he's one of the best ODI bats ever (as much as it hurts to say that). Dumb to call for him to be a Test specialist, TBH.

Because they don't have equal importance.

Voges could probably replace me at the team meeting, but I'm one of the best CoD players ever.

Yet you're happy to blame him for any calls that go wrong, even if there's no evidence that he was a deciding factor?
