IMO, the only area in which it is remotely of concern is in the choice between Henriques and Maxwell as the all-rounder
well i'd have had moises prior to his two good showings. but what they are playing on and how it relates to the test pitches is of utmost importance. if there is nothing here, no risk and instructions to take liberties, it's clearly different to a test match situation on a different surface. i don't know that there is room for either tbh.

Lyon is predictable, Anton a kid and Doherty simply isnt that good

Combined with the fact that the Indian batsmen prefer playing average spin bowling to anything else and I reckon that we would be shooting ourselves in the foot by playing 2 of the 3 especially when it is at the expense of a better bowler in virtually any conditions

Anyway, I would personally feel more comfortable having either Henriques or Maxwell in the X1 rather than a 2nd spinner as they at least bring other things to the table (tbh, I wish that Maxwell was at least a serviceable bowler as then we could piss off the "specialist" spinner for good and really play to our strengths)

that isnt even his name you lunatic

doherty isnt even that good yes. but 3/60 is better than 20 with the bat

regarding maxwell if wishes were horses. we havent had a top 6 bat with frontline spin in my knowledge of watching cricket

Apologies to his parents - Ashton

The fact is that he should not even be on this tour let alone being considered for tests as Australia A or Shield cricket is a perfectly acceptable avenue for gaining experience and both are taking place at home at present

Doherty may well prove to be succesful on this tour but based on his record, he is no more likely to take 3/60 in a test than I am.

Finally, no-one is suggesting that Maxwell bat at 6 - he is a 7 at the very best

All I was saying was that I wished he could be at least trusted to hold up an end so Oz could go with our 4 best bowlers

Unfortunately, he cant, so we will likely be stuck with 3 top class quicks, an average twirler and an all-rounder who may (or may not) have any impact with the ball whatsoever

If that's the case, it will still be better than 2 top class quicks, 2 rank spinners and an all-rounder who may (or may not) have any impact with the ball whatsoever

Clarke's spin is as good as anything Doherty can serve up so I'd rather we stick with our strength and have 3 pacemen not 2.

Greg Matthews did it for a while. Long term his bowling wasn't up to it, but his batting certainly was.

How good is Henriques as a bowler?
Hits the deck hard, and his stump to stump line could be handy on a 5th day pitch. From what ive read so far about the tour games he seems to have been producing some reverse swing which is a fair surprise as personally i've never seen him get much movement in australia

EDIT: definatly more likely to take wickets than flogwell

Virgin you say, drop your pants and spread your legs, you'd be ready to go
