Lyon had a good Australia A tour under his belt though and, more importantly, was a much better bowler for the conditions than Zampa will be.

Plus I don't think I'll be able to convince anyone that he really is only the second best spin bowler from NSW to... if he gets picked in a Test squad, so we've gotta keep him outta there.

i don't necessarily think zampa or boyce should tour, but they've clearly gone off Beer, he's not even the first choice leftie anymore. he went from playing a test match to not being good enough to play for australia a in the space of like 3 months. it wouldn't surprise me to see them look elsewhere for that back-up spinner and well the two leggies seem the obvious direction.

wouldn't make sense unless they pick 3 spinners for the tour. lyon and hauritz are basically the same person remember.

I think the second spinner should really on be there as a backup in case Lyon gets injured tbh.

Disagree on Lyon and Hauritz being the same person too obviously but we don't need to go there again.

just on lyon and the growing chat about him, given he got into the team more on bowling a certain style rather than wickets, surely all he has to do to keep his spot is to bowl that style. (which he hasn't been doing)
