***Official*** England in New Zealand series 2013

Ross Taylor is yawning every third ball since the first over of the game. Quite amusing.

I think McCullum is missing a trick by not bowling some part-timer to Finn here, a good old looper could maybe do the job, nothing to lose anyway.

bowl spin or batsmen for ten overs as fast as possible, beamer Finn (Williamson to throw it at him like he's a set of stumps), get new ball, pray, bowl them out then open with Rutherford and McCullum.

Simple rite?

Ugh. You get the feeling the first innings was a bit of an anomaly and England will shut us out for the remaining tests. Unless we get some helpful conditions, can't see this England side collapsing in a heap again that easily.
Nah, this pitch is seriously dead.

Even a dead Ahmedabad wicket would be better than this because there would be some reverse or at least inconsistent bounce on offer.

The groundsmen shouldn't have left the grass so long. Absolutely nothing for the bowlers whatsoever.

Conceivable that had England showed more spine in their first innings, we could have been forced to sit through a two innings match.

the lead is too big imo. at best we're looking at half an hour to an hour to get them out if they fold for us (and they won't - Finn got 50 on this pitch), and that will take us through to quarter to five. That leaves us until half past six to get 100 - 150 runs if we get the extra half hour.

well at least it ends the doubts about this bowling attack being able to take 20 wickets.

England clearly saved by the first day being rained off.
