Probably one class batsman short......but that will teach me to remember my bids correctly. Like the bowling attack though. Plenty of speed, depth, and variety.

Watson's XI
01. Rev. David Sheppard
02. Trevor Bailey
03. Billy Murdoch
04. Lindsay Hassett
05. Clive Lloyd *
06. Colin Bland
07. Gary Gilmour
08. Harold Larwood
09. Wasim Bari +
10. Charlie Griffith
11. Ashley Mallett

Thanks Michael for running an impressive show!

Billy Murdoch is named in Geoff Armstrong's book as the 86th greatest cricketer of all time.

On the other hand Martin Crowe doesn't make Armstrong's list for reasons I can't think of. But I'd still much rather have Crowe in my line-up!

I have, and like, that Armstrong book. But I'd never realised Crowe wasn't included.

I have a second edition, and from memory he includes Inzy and Sangakkara in there at the expense of two players. I'd take Crowe above both of them.

Inzy yes. Sangakkara I'm not so sure.

However, I doubt that even Sangakkara could muster 188 against Marshall, Holding, and Garner at Bridgetown. So maybe yes also.

Just as a correction to what I wrote above- Armstrong includes Inzy in his first edition, but "drops" him in his second edition for Sanga. Might start a thread on this book....

Good idea Monk. It's also interesting that Clarrie Grimmett doesn't make his Top 100 either, and Kallis is ranked a lowly 88 behind Procter etc.

It won't be a bad team in spite of the obvious weakness Micky Stewart.

weldone XI:
Micky Stewart
John Edrich
Robin Smith
Mahela Jayawardene*
Patsy Hendren
Darren Lehmann
Denis Lindsay+
Rangana Herath
Zaheer Khan
Colin Croft
Chris Martin

Reserve: Verdun Scott

But I know I could've played this better. I was a bit careless in a few rounds in the middle.

And well conducted, Michael..

Solid middle order and bowling line-up, with my favourite player being Patsy Hendren. Probably the best batsman in the side too.

In the theory the final round should be revealed pretty soon. And I get to see what sort of player I get for $1.
