Watson seems a bit busy, so lets get started with the Indian ATG XI. Openers seems a good place to start.
Kindly select any two of the following

Sunil Gavaskar
Vijay Merchant
Virender Sehwag
Navjot Sidhu
Gautham Gambhir

Sunil Gavaskar

Sehwag just seems like a walking wicket againts these high quality attacks.

Agreed.

As much as I love the man, I find it hard to see him fare better than Merchant against an ATG attack. Merchant's record in England also helps.

Gavaskar, Merchant.

The best non-english opener, and an Indian great with an excellent record, especially in first class. Looks like Sehwag might get picked over him though =/

Fry on Merchant (soon after Sutcliffe retired):

`Let us paint him white and take him with us to Australia as an opener.'

Is that an offcial vote and if it is I assume he is to be paired with Gavaskar?

Daemon 06-01-2013 09:38 PM

Yep.

Contra 06-01-2013 09:41 PM

Sehwag
Gavaskar

I'm not going to be biased by Sehwag's rather crappy last 2-3 years and vote......

Sunil Gavaskar
Virender Sehwag
