Is Philander a HTB?

Is he a home track bully? Only does well in RSA.

Philander is probably the best in the world on wickets that offer something.

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Precisely, his average is twice as bad away from home.

Lets wait till the guy has 150-200 wickets then decide if he is an ATG/HTB or whatever.

Outside chance Philander may have 100 test wickets by the end of Feb. 4 tests to go and 1 of them is at Newlands again where Philander averages 9 with the ball.

If your definition of "well" is ****ing own teams beyond any comprehension of ownage, then yes, he only does well in SA.

If your definition of "well" is what most people define "well" as, then no this is a ridiculous assertion.

He has outshone Steyn everywhere except in Australia so far. I don't expect that to continue, but it is quite an accomplishment.

Averages 20 away from home, 11 at home. So clearly HTB

I dont know why people say Philander bowled better than Steyn in England... averages arent the be all and end all ffs... Philander was average in England apart from one awesome final day. On the whole, Steyn picked up more wickets, made key breakthroughs and looked far more threatening imo

Steyn's mini decline (where he has by no means been poor, just not his usual dominant self) has directly coincided with Philander's entrance into Test cricket hasn't it? Makes one wonder about how good it is for your own record to have good bowlers bowling alongside you.
