Chris Lynn has a better T20 record than Big Ben.

Incidentally I just found an article online from what appears to be a regional newspaper talking up Lynn and Cutting as possible Australian players. :P

I was a bit confused when I read this quote, "If I'm batting at the end with Peter Forrest, there's a fair chance we win the game." Must have the wrong player, surely.

Chris Lynn is clearly a different player than Rohrer. Would be like comparing Chris Gayle and Brett Lee.

Lynn is a top order player, which australia have plenty of, Rohrer is a middle/lower order finisher, which we currently have Bailey doing. Rohrer is better at that role.

The biggest compliment I can give Rohrer is that he is the closest thing in domestic short form cricket to Mike Hussey. I nearly included him but I'm a Bailever (doesn't work does it) so he makes my team as captain at number 5, one spot higher than he stupidly currently bats for Hobart.

So our squad for the first 2 ODI's.

George Bailey (capt), Ben Cutting, Xavier Doherty, Aaron Finch, Brad Haddin, Phil Hughes, David Hussey, Mitchell Johnson, Usman Khawaja, Glenn Maxwell, Clint McKay, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc.

The first thing that annoys me is Cutting being picked in his worst format. Haddin is a meh selection, I don't really want him opening, I would rather a younger guy take his spot. Henriques and Faulkner are unlucky.

From the squad chosen, I would probably go for:

1. Finch 2. Hughes 3. Khawaja 4. Dussey 5 Bailey 6 Haddin 7 Maxwell 8 Johnson 9 Starc 10 McKay 11 Doherty

Actually not really sure if its wise getting 10 overs out of Maxwell and Dussey, further illustrating why Henriques at 7 would be the ideal option.

While it looks bad on first viewing, I don't actually think the squad is as bad as I first felt. Khawaja and Cutting are the only real names there that don't warrant a spot.

I think I said this last year. Standing by it #bigben4evr

Swap Hughes and Usman around. Don't really like Dussey at 4 or Maxwell at 7 but what are you gonna do

Yeah I almost swapped Hughes and Khawaja around too, probably a good move. Don't like Duss at 4 either, but I don't like him in the team full stop.

20 overs of spin from Doherty, Dussey and Maxwell seems a bit of a stretch for me. But I guess there aren't many alternatives...

Team certainly isn't short of part time spin options...Could do with some Watto like seamers though.
