    Look at their pants ffs

Fielding is one thing that is much, much better measured by the eye compared to statistics imo.

    indeed
And smalishah's avatar is the most classy one by far Jan certainly echoes the sentiments of CW

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

I really wish we could quantify it better. Like how Baseball does it. Places more emphasis and value on fielding, will make coaches/selectors appreciate it more and thus will lead to players working harder on that aspect.

From my cricket playing/following experience, Fielding is just always treated as an additional bonus to batting and bowling, yet has huge impact on matches in real time, especially at lower amateur levels. I wish that it would be treated more seriously, at an equal level to Batting, Bowling and Keeping.

Pretty great record for Hobbs, but because there was no third umpire you can never really be sure if all of them were out.

It is on this basis that I think we can safely exclude him from these discussions.

I agree. I also don't think we should take any wickets bowlers took before UDRS at face value. I think that'd probably put Jimmy Anderson in all our All Time World XI sides, and rightly so.

'Stats' is not a synonym for 'Career Test Averages'

Baseball doesn't put the right emphasis on fielding though.
