Whatever happened to Guptill's pull shot? He hit it so well but because he got out to it a few times early in his career he binned it, such a shame imo, loved watching him bang that out.

Yeah it was strictly a limited overs shot. To use it in tests against quality quicks takes something more because you actually have to think for a fraction of a second before you play it which none of our batsmen are really good enough to do. In ODIs and T20s it's just a reflex action.

Yeah Richardson was such a crap opener for binning all the shots he wasn't good at, terrible idea. Steve Waugh should've manned up too, what kind of whimp decides to duck short balls.
Not saying you bin it permanently. But you focus on not playing it while out of form, focus on improving your technique in the nets and FC cricket, and in the interim look to make runs through safer shots. Unfortunately, Guptill doesn't have any other shots to rely on at the moment.
Wow. Jeremy Coney ripping into Hesson on the UK Sky coverage.
Basically called him a lightweight and a liar.

If you're an international test opener, the pull should be the last shot you look to rely on. Cut the wide ****, drive the full **** once the shine's gone, flick to leg if they slip too straight. [/it'ssoeasysittingathome]
