TBH, I think Tahir would take more wickets against NZ than Peterson. |

Tahir probably needs a spell back in FC cricket anyway, to get his confidence back. |

As for Rudolph being dropped, who would you replace him with? There really aren't many candidates. Neither Rudolph or Elgar are Test-match class but with Duminy's injury, I don't see who else they can turn to. Quinton still needs another year of first-class cricket imo. |

I'm a big fan of the name 'Aaron Phangiso'. Got a certain je ne sais quoi about it.
edit: I see his middle name is 'Mpho'. Is 'Aaron Mpho Phangiso' the best name ever to appear in int'l cricket? Last edited by Neil Young; 13-12-2012 at 03:47 AM. |

Hudders has already said that Elgar will get a run and Rudolph will be the standby batsman. Also glad with Tahir's dropping. A 12-man SA 'A' or Invitational side to play in the T20 Warm-up on the 18th in PMB was also chosen. Stiaan Van Zyl (Cobras) Davy Jacobs (Warriors) Mangaliso Mosehle (Titans) Dane Vilas (+) (Cobras) Vaughn Van Jaarsveld (Dolphins) Justin Ontong (c) (Cobras) David Wiese (Titans) Roelof Van der Merwe (Titans) Aaron Phangiso (Lions) Hardus Viljoen (Lions) Kyle Abbott (Dolphins) Craig Alexander (Dolphins) |

I kinda don't think warm-up matches should be necessary at all in this case. All the players are either coming from series against Sri Lanka and India before that, or else the domestic season playing both 4 day cricket and t20s simultaneously.
I understand that the players want preparation but there's also a balance issue and cramming in series into a season. They'd do better to look on a case-by-case basis. Especially the t20 stuff. a little silly IMO. |
