He did all right.

We're under no illusions here. SA have the better bowling and batting lineup by far.

However, I do believe that our bowling attack is stronger than Australia's, so if on the very slight chance we manage to put up a reasonable score, our bowlers will do a better job of taking wickets than Australia did in the first 2 tests.

Milne with an as yet unspecified achilles tendon complaint. Trip to SA uncertain.

Bugger. I bet the selectors were dying to get Milne and McClenaghan on the speed gun in the same match too.

Speaking of Maclaggan St, not much has been said over his selection. I guess with all the hype it was only a matter of time should he stay injury free. Never seen him bowl live IIRC so I'll be keen to see.

Leading FC wicket-taker Ian Butler to replace Milne probs. If not, 'he showed promise in the A tour one-dayers' Wagner.

Except he'd be next to useless as he wouldn't see the new ball. Wagner's rubbish but at least he can hold a bat.

Yeah, don't see much point in Martin touring. Gillespie should be going imo.

That's not a terrible record considering SA chased a paltry total in one match and declared for not much in another.

I'd have him the same way they've picked Bruce Martin - one wouldn't want him as the third pace bowler, but if Southee or Boult gets injured he's a good backup new ball bowler.

I would have picked Gillespie ahead of Wagner though.

South Africa set to include a few youngsters in the Limited Overs series against NZ, including the young sensation Quinton de Kock.

Interesting selection. There were quite a few batting better than him this ODI season. It would make some sense -if he also will be keeping wicket ....
