If that stuff about the culture in the team is true then it's disgraceful.
Can handle losing if the blokes are committed and professional. From what was said about Taylor not really fitting in, as well as other little things, I get the impression that the team is a bit of a boys club. Getting on the piss and social smoking shouldn't be requirements to fit in with the other blokes. |

I thought Chris Rattue said that the board was standing for re-election at the special meeting. It sounds from this article that not only are they not standing for re-election but they are heightening their powers by reducing the number of elected positions and then getting the power to appoint the other two positions themselves.
If this is correct - I am dissapointed. Also it will be the end of the year before Parker can ride in on his white horse and save the day. I have met John Parker by the way. He ran a coaching course which I attended growing up. Scolded me for running my partner out in a practice match.

I think he is going to get complained about if he isn't personally careful. edit - people at work are discussing his articles and have speculated that he has various motives. All of them negative and depressing if true. Last edited by Hurricane; 19-01-2013 at 11:51 PM. |

"If anyone really wants to deal in "facts", though, they should start with this one: There were four people in that room in Sri Lanka. Three of them agree on what was said."
Yeah because three of them definitely weren't on the same side in the matter already

Hesson admits himself it was never explicitly said to Ross ("there was no discussion regarding one form, two forms, three forms"),

All of them have stated that noone was explicit about which forms of the game. Noone has said anything to contradict Taylor's statements. This guy is a halfwit. |

Deliberately bumping this before there is a final result of the test - just so it isn't super hindsight.
Has anyone changed their view? If not against Hesson, but with McCullum? Or still hating him? Or still undecided? I've spoken to a couple of Kiwis who still staunchly say Ross Taylor was royally screwed, but see the silver lining (I watched Silver Linings Playbook last night tbf) is that McCullum as captain could be a good result even if the method getting there was awful. Reckon it will (and apparently has) made him a better batsman, and he may a better leader than Ross. Hard to say, but curious what the Kiwi fans on here think. I always felt Ross wasn't an inspiring leader but at the same time it was hard to argue with the fact he won a test in Australia and in Sri Lanka. Tricky one. |

McCullum has been a good captain, tbh. Still dislike Hesson and the handling, but McCullum will probably turn out to be a better captain than Taylor was at this stage.
