In honor of Starc's effort... whats the worst spell of bowling which has still yielded 5 wickets for the lucky bowler?

Murali took 5 for about a thousand out here one time I think. Wasn't pretty.

Sir Ian used to get a lot of wickets with ****e deliveries, so many in fact that it eventually became apparent that that was a special talent he had

Seriously? McGrath's at Old Trafford in the second innings of the 2005 Ashes.

Got Tres with one he blocked & it rolled back onto his stumps, Strauss pulling when he'd tonned up, KP and then Fred missed straight ones when they were in mow mode and finally Bell holed out to long off.

The great man clearly wasn't fit tho, tbf.

But he wasn't bowling pies the rest of the time as well was he?

Krejza was. Starc was too until his sudden change of heart.

yeah that was a pretty horrendous 5-for, yet he still ended up with a decent match average.

Nah, he was. Was going at nigh on six an over and (IIRC) struggling with no-balls too.

Bell, who couldn't buy a run all series, scored 60-odd.

Scorecard helps tell the story in AB's case tbh. Shows how he came in when the lead was already 300+ with virtually no pressure on him and scored a brilliant 169.
