Is Mitchell Starc the new Nathan Bracken?

If that second innings beating He's just taken today becomes habitual, please don't let it happen again Mitch. Is he headed down the route of One day specialist like Bracken? Am I jumping to conclusions?

Is Mitchell Starc doomed to unflattering comparisons whenever he plays badly in a way James Pattinson and Patrick Cummins never will be

This is like comparing Brett Lee to Clint McKay.

If I was feeling mean I'd compare him to James Franklin.

He really, really didn't, you know.

Starc didn't bowl well today, let's be honest, but I still retain faith. Mercurial talent that has (to borrow a PEWSism) a high ceiling.

For the record Mitch Starc is my 2nd favourite aussie pace man after Glenn Mcgrath, who is in turn one of my favourite cricketers outright. That aside he really got singled out today. Here's hoping he bounces back and develops into a class test player.

He lacks wicket taking variety atm. Strange thing to say I know, but looks like his wickets only come from inswingers that bowl the batsmen. Not a problem if he keeps doing it ofcourse, but once the ball stops moving he needs to find other ways of getting batsmen out.

Despite all the hate for Johnson, he had 3 major ways of taking wickets, inswinger (rarely), off cutter and the bouncer.

The Mitchell Stark I'm familiar with was a beast for Yorkshire in the Friends T20. Topped the wickets list I think plus He's been really good with the ball for Australia in limited overs as far as I can tell. Can he or won't he be able to translate that kind of worth in limited overs to the test scene? Or is he too close to the Nathan Bracken model now to break the mold?
