well the reverse is you encourage the bat to hit over/through the field to get a 2 or 4 and he's more likely to get out.
Fair I guess. But I still think he's a good enough bat to not get out just because cover, or whoever is up. It would just be like ODI cricket in the powerplays.

I've lost count of the number of times Clarke has done that almost straight away to a spinner.
