Probably because he is itbt. Love watching him bat but there's no doubt that he's one of the most bogan Test players for Aus in ages.

why has the top order running of aus been so poor in the last few yrs.

there's almost a run-out every test of a top order aus batsman.

You may have heard of these two blokes called Shane Watson and Phil Hughes.

Nah, it's worrying, though. Gone are the days where you expected an Australian top order bat to be gun between the wickets, but it's the basic, basic errors like ball watching, failing to call properly etc which are annoying.

Have settled on the fact that Mitch Johnson is the cricketing equivalent of an abusive boyfriend. Hear me out. He starts off great - everyone is jealous of how well he treats you. Suddenly, a few things don't go his way and it all goes to **** and, well after everyone realises that enough is enough, CA finally dumps him.

He goes away and does well elsewhere, and suddenly, you know what, maybe we were wrong about Mitch. Maybe he's not as bad as we thought he was. Maybe he deserves another chance.

So we bring him back. And for the first little bit he's great - he takes you out to dinner, brings you flowers, and he's bowling well. But deep, deep down, everyone knows it's only a matter of time before **** hits the fan and he goes back to old habits again. It's just a matter of time.

Lawry advised Bird to enjoy the day and passed on a piece of advice he heard from the great Don Bradman. ''I think Don Bradman got it exactly right when he said to the young players - play the game for the game's sake and keep your eye on the ball.''

sorry Bill, justin langer actually said that

best since SA in 05 (71K, where the effects of the Ashes series were still having an impact on the crowd figures) and WI in 00 (73K. Last time WI played on Boxing Day)

Funniest one was Watson and Katich who ended up at the same end with Watto saying " Aww Kat!"

Here's a bit of trivia seeing as how this is the last test of 2012

(1) If Johnson can take a wkt in his next 15 balls, he will have the best SR for 2012 (min. 10 wkts)

(2) Hussey and Clarke are currently tied for most hundreds (4) in 2012 (also Kallis, Amla and Cook)

(3) Hussey and Warner are currently tied for most sixes (11) by an Aussie in 2012

(4) Siddle is currently top Aussie wkt taker with 40 wkts, however Lyon has 35 so could top him in the 2nd innings?

(5) Clarke (20*) needs 280 more runs to score the most ever runs in a calender year, or 36 runs to overtake Ponting for most by an Aussie

(6) Hussey needs 136 runs to achieve 1000 runs in 2012
