BBC: "England Hold Early Edge"

CRICINFO: "The See-Saw Swings Sri Lanka's Way"

CRICKETWEB: "Day 1 Honours Even"

CRICKET365: "Lankan Skipper Steers Ship To Safety"

SKYSPORTS: "Bowlers Keep England In Contention"

CRICKET4: "England Take Opening Honours"

Interesting split of ideas there.

Well, we don't have too many characters to play with on Cricket Web.

I would sooner have written "Sri Lanka just about shade the opening day by about 51:49 following early inroads by England assisted in part by Harper, then a spirited recovery followed by another minor collapse (also Harper-inspired), another recovery brought about in part by lame, unpenetrating bowling then a late wicket."
