The India and Pakistan combined ATG Thread : Open Voting

Same as other threads. The idea is to create an AT India\Pakistan Test XI by open voting. The reason I am combining the two countries is because it always fascinated me that how good the team would have been had the partition in 1947 not taken place.

There will be four categories:

- Opening batsmen (2)
- Middle order batsmen (4)
- Wicketkeeper (1)
- Bowlers (4)

- For the all rounders, keep in mind the desired role you want for them and select them in that category.

You may wish to vote for players other than the ones I list.

We'll start with the openers, please select two of the following:

Sunil Gavaskar
Virender Sehwag
Saeed Anwar
Gautam Gambhir
Hanif Mohammed
Vijay Merchant
Aamir Sohail
Navjot Sidhu
Taufeeq Umar
Mohsin Khan

This shouldn't take that long.

Indian batsmen + Javed,
One allrounder from Kapil/Mushtaq/Mankad,
The Pakistani fast bowling trio
Kumble
Toss a coin for the keeper.

Openers : Gavaskar and Merchant for me but I imagine Sehwag will get more votes than Merchant...

Gavaskar and Anwar

Was tempted to go for Sehwag, but a left+right combination, and the fact that Anwar isnt useless overseas made me change my vote

Stealing my gig!

Why a combined team? Both would have competitive XIs.

Pretty much India's bats and **** bowlers for a combo.

Gavaskar and Sehwag for me...

I'll go for Anwar and Gavaskar too.

tempted by Sehwag but I feel Anwar is very under rated and was a pretty awesome batsman. Also has better footwork than Sehwag so should see him do a little better against the moving ball.

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Gavaskar and Sehwag (Merchant would be too romantic a pick )

By the way, why not go the whole schlong and make it a Sub-Continent XI?

Miandad
Imran
Engineer
Kumble

Having Imran at 6 doesn't seem necessary to me. Mushtaq or Mankad should be one of the spinners.
