One of the posters there points out that Slater is described as "dogged and determined". Interesting call

Our rules gave us less leeway due to restrictions with their debut. Still it might be interesting to see if we come up with something better. I might look around and see if we can get 18 participants, just for the kicks,

It's not a competition!

But I think you'll see most teams will have to have a few 'weaker' players!

Oh, I agree. I'm just trying to make it one to amuse myself.

How about a CW vs "your site" type of draft? I'm sure some of us will be keen to try out something different like that.

Just remember to count me in if you ever happen to start one. My dedication to drafts cannot be questioned!

Everyone on here would vote for CW, everyone on TLW would vote for theirs.

Can't see it working.

Who has more members?

But seriously, I would just vote for the best team and not care who made it.

BTW, I reckon people are being extremely harsh on Dhoni. Reckon he is a must in an 18 man draft - Vaughan too.

For me I quite like Jairzinho's team because he's picked his team in a reasonable batting order for starters. I'm a fan of Ian Sea's team too. I could see Lee, Fraser, Morkel and Flintoff working quite well together really - with Warne and the batting lineup is good.

Stu Monty's team pisses me off, he's picked about 6 specialist number 5 and 6 batsman.

Jairzinho and Ian Sea for me.

LFD, how long did it take you to complete the draft?

Started the selection on 30 September. Finished all 18 teams on 9th November.

Just doing voting now.

Group 1 nearly finished - Ian Sea & Stu Monty are winning!

Group 2 voting starts tomorrow and I'll post teams and write ups on here for you all to see what you think.

That's quite good going.

Not surprised at Ian Sea's team doing well, but I am surprised with Stu Monty.

Is he a used car salesman, because his comments make his team sound better then it is. Wasim arguably the best quick ever, Swann coming in at 9! He bats at 9 for England, lol. Flower opening and captain and keeper is absurd. Samaraweera and Martyn are the wrong way around and I wouldn't consider Collingwood as a Test all rounder as he did. On the plus Akram, Willis and Bishop is a fantastic pace bowling unit.

We had a 24 hour rule. If it was someone turn they had 24 hours, if they hadn't gone then they missed their turn and got two selections next time. It kept it moving.

We're going to do an ODI one after this.

Swann, occasionally, and might on Thursday, bat 10 for England, so 9 really isn't that incredible

Ha, so they had to wait until their next turn, on here, if you miss your turn you just pick whenever you log on. Personally, I like your idea more as it ensures people pick within the timeframe as you'd be pretty annoyed seeing 17 other people pick before you.

It keeps it moving, which is essential with 18 teams.

Yes it someone missed their turn they had to wait till their next go and then they pick two selections. If you were number 1 or number 18, you'd have 35 picks to be made before you go again.

Tbf, they had a 24 hour picking window instead of a 12 one though.
