Just because he is a dinosaur does not mean that he finds trials by media to be easy to handle.

It's not about the media - it's about the paying public. You owe it to them to front up.

This.

Not once did he come out to face the tough questions. And then after he got the hundred he was all like "i was under so much pressure".

Kohli will be Kohli and Sachin will be Sachin. Each carve their own legacy. There is only 1 Sachin he is the king but it does not mean there will be princes. Maybe maybe not maybe Indian team rely on each other in a collective manner for that spark. Think it will be better for them in the road ahead

He earns his salary because he is really ****ing good at what he does. Media appearances have got nothing to do with being a good cricketer or performing for your country.

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

The only reason the sport he loves became a career option was because of the fans.

Precisely. Yeah, so the media are ****s. Suck it up, because it's an integral part of being a professional sportsman.

Yeah and he repayed them by entertaining them for two decades with what he does best. Just because he lost form doesn't mean he needs to entertain them via sorry words at a press conference. It would be nice of him to do so, but he doesn't owe them anything afaic.

It's not about sorry words at all. For instance he could have on his last tour here even made a statement and answered no questions, would have been better than what he did.

Sachin's lack of media in Australia really shouldn't be justified by Indian fans. He doesn't HAVE to do pressers. But he should. It would have been the right thing to do.
