The Aussie Pace Bowling attack

Firstly, that's in ODI's in helpful conditions.
Secondly, you've already selected 2 specialist spinners, so how can you use that aspect of Clarke's game to leapfrog the order of batsmen in line for a place.
Obviously you missed all that stuff I wrote about Clarke's bowling being speculative at best.

Well the Aussies have picked the same 12......I do hope Williams gets a go at the expense of Andy Bichel, who had a terrible TVS cup and a terrible first test.
I think Williams was unlucky to miss out in the first test.
It is difficult to judge MacGill's effectiveness on the gabba pitch - at least, THAT Gabba pitch. I feel he does have the capacity to trouble India's batsman, but we'll see.

Interesting that Lee was overlooked, the selectors obviously want him to prove his fitness over 4 days in the Pura cup. Probably fair enough.

i think people are slightly overrating Williams

185 wickets averaging 30.3 on the WACA half the time is really quite poor

i really cant believe he keeps getting picked, especially for the longer version of the game over Inness and Noffke both of whom have better records than him - especially Inness.

I think the bowling will suffer again for lack the wicket taking ability of Lee and the constant pressure of McGrath and Warne.

i would pick the same XI for the 2nd test - i rate Katiches batting and part timers more valuable than Williams bowling

lol, steve waughs bowling isn't quite what it used to be and martyns well was never much good
ok,maybe martyns' was being a bit too optimistic...but swaugh, although he doesn't bowl much, when he does bowl,he generally bowls pretty well... Injury is the only thing stopping him from bowling lots of overs

I think for someone of Steve Waugh's pace to bounce batsmen and have them ducking for cover says something about his bowling...

Need people be reminded of his psychological advantage (i.e. the Robert Key episode)?

Well, he was ON FIRE yesterday at the WACA :O
There were these HUGE cracks in the pitch and he used them really well, every time the ball hit them the batsmen didnt know which way it was going, well no body did really. Quite dangerous I suppose, but hey it got the batsmen on edge.

I really hope Andy Bichel is given another chance. He has been waiting for so long on the fringes it would be unfair to ditch him after one bad test. It would also leave Australia with its most inexperianced pace attack for a long time with Williams and Bracken having played only 1 test each. With Bichel out, it also lengthens the tail with Gillespie or Bracken coming in at 8.
