it's important we have strong focused batsmen playing because it's one of those pitches where you're never quite in

Lyon shouldn't play in Brisbane.
Arguably not, but then you've got a five man pace attack, which will bore the **** out of me.

It's not what the spectators want as they head down to the ground after a morning at the beach

it would be a big move to drop lyon after he was so dominant last year at the gabba (@ bowling to their tail-enders + a drunk ryder)

Also if it's hot weather the pitch might flatten out. With Watto to assist, four seamers should be enough. Surely you need variety.

Paine is not that much better with the gloves.
I'd have to disagree, he's very good with the gloves. Streets ahead of Wade. His batting has been disappointing but his glovework and feet are exceptional.

Wade to me looks like a very good batsman who can keep reasonably well. Can see him as a specialist bat in a year if he's still around.

wade being just about our best young batsman (with the prince obv) and us having quite a few keeping options (haddin, paine, nev, even chris hartley) means, for me anyway, wade playing as a specialist bat is always an option.

spikeys right unless clarkeh bowls more, just the over rates will kill us alone. and he won't bowl more.

We must have different definitions of exceptional. Paine for mine is solid keeper at most.

Agree with your assessment of Wade's keeping.

Also reckon Paine is better outfielder then keeper. If he could hold bat beyond 50, would be a better bet for the specialist batsmen slot.
