This tournament is completely illegitimate, meaningless and will not gain any of my attention other than this post.

That is, unless the Sixers make the final and/or win the tournament.

I find it interesting the way Australia has this split between their franchise teams and their national team playing T20. There seems to be as much if not more interest in the franchise sides and the Big Bash than for Australia during the World Cup. That seems to be happening more with T20 than in the other formats.

Anyway I suspect the next few pages will be about bashing the number of IPL teams and the India-centric nature of the competition. Which seems fair enough (to bash).

Well I didn't watch much of the international T20 competition that has just gone and failed to see a game all the way through but will probably watch Yorkshire tomorrow. Not overly fussed about this either really, just waiting for our drubbing in India to start.

Yay! It's on Eurosport 2 up here so won't have to try to "tune in" my "telly" to any other "channels".

Uva Next quite possibly the worst name for a sporting side ever? Discuss.

Yeah its pretty ordinary, can't think of a worse named team at all.

WTF do both Aussie teams automatically qualify anyway? It seems silly, WA finishing second should definitely have to quality, India's third ranked team should definitely have to qualify too.

Cause they're organising the tournament. It's how the host nation always gets a free entry without needing to qualify.

Matches need some IPL teams to cheer against.

Yorks keeping their "always open with Root whether batting or bowling" thang going, then.

Hmm, lovely cover drive off the third ball too; proper cricket shot.

Can't help but think the English sides are somewhat hamstrung by their comparative lack of overseas players. Looking at Uva they have Chanders, Oram, Gul & Ranga McDonald.

Thinks Yorks only have the one (Miller), what with Jaques technically being domestic now.

Bowling changes works, kinda. Munaweera smacks a wide one from Ashraf to Miller at wideish cover point.

Rashid's action looked a bit wrong somehow with the one that went past the slog and hit leg stump.
