No problem on the above Sonnench.

Tahir dominates English and South African domestic cricket wicket wise but runs can still tend to flow. The selectors have told him to be more disciplined and work more on his stock delviery which is his leg-break but we've heard it all before. He just bowls to flat and doesn't spin the leg-break at all. To me he seems predictable.

Not sure if its a mental thing that he can't seem to step up like Jacques Rudolph who has done the same. Maybe his variations are better without the pressure ? I don't know.

We play Pakistan away just before our summer this year. Could possibly see him back in the squad there. We may be forced to do it as he has experience and may get one more crack.

Harmer isn't ready for test level, still learning his trade and its similar for the likes of Piedt & Leie. I'm hoping Subrayen gets over his issues and Kaber pushes through at the Titans but both far too young for SA talk still. I'm expecting Kyle Simmonds to make SA u19 so will monitor him if he does.

Great to see Quinton de Kock has been called up to ODI squad. Now I have a reason to watch ODI cricket

Before I start - Left-arm quick, Jan Frylinck's (18 - Boland Landbou - Cobras), injury has made him not available for either squads. Daryn Dupavillon & Greg Oldfield's injuries possibly effecting their chances of getting into the test squad.

CSA Youth Cricket Manager, Niels Momberg is pleased with the choices made this year, he said: "There will always kids who will be unlucky but I believe we have a good blend of senior and junior players. I believe the selectors chose the best possible side for the Test series and we have given some youngsters an opportunity that will prepare them for the ICC U19 World Cup next year from the ODI side."

Rosier, who was the Knights' captain during Cubs Week and the Coca-Cola Khaya Majola U19 Week, is excited to be back in the national squad and is thrilled to receive the captain's job as well.

"I was speechless when my name was announced along with the news that I would be captain. This is a huge honour and I feel so privileged to have earned the selectors' trust with such a big responsibility. I'm looking forward to the challenges that lie ahead, I know that there is a lot of work that needs to be done but I can't wait to get started," he said.

The SA U19s will host England from 23 January to 21 February 2013 in the Stellenbosch and Cape Town regions. It is the first step in the team's preparations for the World Cup in 2014 that will take place in Dubai.

Yeah, pretty happy. Out of the 20 players selected only really Sine Ntshona in the ODI squad is a player I don't think has done much to be there. Then Jan Frylinck (injury) & Solo Nqweni (action rehabilitation) are players who would have got a look in if available.

The test squad is an older one and the younger 17 year-old batsmen like Oldfield, Dial & Valli come in for the ODI's which is good so they can start their preparation for the WC. Don't forget the 17 year olds have school starting now as well.

Don't know too much about the spinner Faasen in the test squad other than he was with the enlarged squad training at the academy for the last WC squad and missed out on selection. The ODI squad doesn't really have a spinner in it. Expecting batsmen like Valli, Oldfield, Dial & Ntshona to chip in.

Doesn't look like Tsolekile is even getting a game at the Lions at the moment.

Truly got screwed over. Hopefully the CSA contract was worth at least a couple of playing domestic seasons.

Just looked at the Cobras - Lions game. Tsolekile is in the team apparently, but De Kock is keeping.

It's all very weird, especially given that De Kock is opening.

Don't know what treatment you are referring to with Tsolekile.

He is only fit to run in straight lines with his sideways movement not passing the fitness test so only playing as a batsman with De Kock keeping.

Much appreciated clarification. Still no idea why De Kock is opening in first class.

Don't think that he'll find himself up the pecking order, even if De Kock has a terrible season.
