Probably because he bowls so close to the stumps, he doesn't really angle the ball in as much. Makes batsmen think balls are sliding past when reality they're quite straight.

either way pretty dangerous ploy to leave those if batsman decided early to leave the ball based on length, could easily be deceptive arm ball
