So much criticism of Root batting slowly and boringly earlier in the match yet Kohli making him look like Chris Gayle. Lets hope the new ball goes for a few runs if it doesn't take any wickets.

Plenty of people moaning that Cook, Compton, Trott and Root in the same side was dire but at least KP and Prior would liven it up a bit in future. Kohli doing a bloody good job here, one of the few prepared to knuckle down and adapt to conditions.

And Kohli is batting about the same pace as Root. Slightly slower but not sure how he is making him look like Chris Gayle either ?

Hey 31.87 runs per 100 balls against 27.51 is a big difference. About 30 minutes batting on here.

    is this a timeless test?

given the way the pitch is and the way the two teams have played, it sure seems like it

A few wickets go and 250 might be a struggle. Terrible pitch, almost as though they went for this to avoid defeat, certainly never went for it to try to win as nobody in their right mind would want a pitch like this.

Oh and just to cheer everyone up, the final session will be even more boring as England will slow it down as they are ahead of the over rate. No need to bowl more than 90 in a day.

Well batted Dhoni, never thought he could play a sensible knock again.

Great knock from Dhoni. If you're going to spray his **** knocks like i do, you equally have to credit him when he bats well. Led from the front here and promoted himself in the order ahead of the debutant. Courageous move, especially with the pressure on him.

    Well played skipper.
