Yeah, makes one cringe. I hope England hammer us over the next two games.

Cricket press seem to be assuming Finn for Broad and Bell for Bairstow then.

Thoughts? Length of the tail worries me somewhat; Anderson at #9 far from optimal, especially with Trott and Bell not in prime nick and Denis jr and Sammy, at best, unproven.

Lot of responsibility on Messrs Cook, Pietersen & Prior.

Swann at 8 and Anderson at 9 is fine IMO. It's just a typical lower order rather than your usual ridiculous one. Prior's the best #7 in world cricket too which obviously helps.

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. It's not as if Broad was scoring heaps of runs. The batting is still a bit of a worry, but I don't think either Broad at 8 or Bairstow at 5 will solve any of the issues.

I think there is either way - as someone else said, Broad isn't making loads of runs anyway. I'm happy enough to have more than one of our quicks presenting a genuine threat with the new ball, as I don't think we can rely on the spinners taking 19 wickets again.

Bell is lucky to walk straight back into the side, but I just about prefer to see some experience in the middle order.

One more thrashing for Indian team in next few days (only if match doesn't end in draw)

yessssssssssssssssssss batting first

desperately hoping there isn't an early collapse, but if this is typical Eden wicket, then we'll have to work really hard with the ball.

Looking forward to the possibility of watching Bell add to his competition entries.

Patel still getting in this side? Ridiclous!

Great way to treat young talent as well dropping Bairstow.

Patel should have been the one to miss out, at least Bairstow is the future unlike Patel.
