I find that rather lame, it's not out just because it's "more likely" to bounce more is dumb reasoning, it shouldn't be any different then when you catch of a player's hands, keeper's glove or boot or w/e else.

anyways I gotta get some sleep, hopefully we're in a decent position by the end of today.

will it be out if it hit the chest guard and bounced ? Saw rahane wearing one yesterday
Do not argue with an idiot. He will drag you down to his level and beat you with experience.

England has played really well his game. With Pietersen it is just a matter of time before he gets runs and hopefully that is it for this series. With Prior still to come do nt see this ending well for us.

Yeah, I'm sure I've heard comms talk about a difference between PE that's visible and that which is worn beneath the clothes.

No sure if this is codified in the laws/playing conditions tho.

Regardless, horrible shot from Bluey just before lunch.

"I don't believe a word of Pietersen's book, but then I don't believe a word anyone else has said either."
    - Simon Barnes renders further comment on KP's autobiography superfluous in a sentence

Another reason to hate Gambhir claiming a catch that wasn't then.

    Wait till Burgey hears.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's the rule. Although I'm not sure it applies to keepers.

Yeah, Bumble just read it. Specifically mentions "other than protective helmet".

Looking at the replay from the side-on cam, surely the square leg umpire saw it practically lodge in the grill from his postion? Either blind or doesn't know the rules.

    For clarity, law 32.3 (e)

"However, it is not a fair catch if the ball has previously touched a protective helmet worn by a fielder."

I knew the rule but didn't know it had hit the helmet till cricinfo mentioned it might have done. Bairstow obviously didn't know or just didn't notice.
