Do they just not get how first slip works or something? Maybe Rahul needs to jog down from the box and give Dhoni a few words. First slip is probably the most specialist position in the game. Pick a bloke and stick with him; he'll drop a few at first, but that's the only way he'll improve.

EDIT: Pujara's wearing shin pads too, while at first slip? Wow.

Can't find the article I was looking for but I did find this and this.

The article I read was weird though; it was all about Ashwin pushing to contribute in other ways, specifically bat in the top six and field in slips. Given he's supposed to be India's #1 spinner and hasn't exactly set the world alight in this series I thought it was odd that he wasn't focusing on that first and foremost, though.

It may be true that he's as good a batsman/slipper as he is a bowler right now but that's not really what India need from him in his current role, which he's not a master of it yet by any stretch.

We bowled well upfront, disappointing to not have picked up a wicket. These two have fulfilled their roles as openers pretty well.

Feel uncomfortable about the way this is going, and the whole of the last Test. Almost like a return I the England I watched over 2010 and 11 but this year has taught sensible fans that a **** up is just around the corner.

Fortunately I'm not a sensible fan; looks like another easy win this. We'll be back at #1 in no time.

Sounded like a good knock from MSD.

Pujara is a short-leg fielder, not really used to fielding at the slips.

And Ashwin is batting a whole lot better than he his bowling this series so far.
