Barring that brain fart, Compton's shown an encouraging ability to stick around. Couldn't ask for a more hostile debut, what with following on on a rank turner and facing a frothing Ashwin who hasn't had a good Test dustbowl in months. If he sticks with the goal of facing 100 balls an innings while letting Cook et al bat around him he'll be an asset.
