Best Matches of the Past Decade

We're putting together a feature on the best Tests, ODIs and T20s of the past decade, basically since Cricket Web opened in October 2001.

So far we have the following matches:

ODIs

South Africa v Australia ODI (the 434 match)
Ireland v England ODI World Cup Match (Kevin O'Brien's innings)
India v Pakistan World Cup 2010 semi final

Tests

Australia v New Zealand Test (the Hobart victory)
England v Australia (2005 Edgbaston Test)

Twenty20

Pakistan v Australia Twenty20 World Cup 2010 Semi Final (Hussey's innings)
Australia v England Twenty20 World Cup 2010 Final
India v Pakistan Twenty20 World Cup 2007 Final

Would be interesting to hear what all your favourite matches are and help us add to the list

  • Steve Waugh's 'Perfect Day' vs England, 2002
  • Murali's 800th vs India

ODIs:
  • Kohli's knock to chase 320 in 40 overs.

What year was the Australia v New Zealand match? I have no recollection....

ODIs:

Aus v NZ 2002 (Bevan miracle innings and Bond awesomeness - 10th Match: Australia v New Zealand at Melbourne, Jan 29, 2002 | Cricket Scorecard | ESPN Cricinfo. Atmosphere was electric in the 'G that night.)

Tests:

1st test, RSA v Aus 2002. I know it wasn't remotely close but you were seeing one of the great teams at the height of their powers - and a Gilly double ton.

2007 I believe, was the CH leading into the world cup.

Yep, I remember covering this match for this site - hands down the best ODI I can remember, had a bit of everything.

Would recommend a whole review of the '05 Ashes series tbh - anything less would be doing it an injustice.

Either of the Australia - SA Tests from last summer wouldn't be out of place either.

Adelaide '07 a ripper too.

Whole heap of Eng/Aus/SA Tests could be thrown in that list as well. India vs SL has produced some good Tests the last few years also, as well as Eng-Pak.
