"punter doesn't have the sample size at 3"

* picks McGrath who only played 2 T20Is and Gilchrist to bat no. 7
Mcgrath and Gilly atleast have solid IPL stats to their name, and there isn't as much competition for the slot's gilly and mcgrath are filling compared to ponting. Show me a keeper or 3rd pacer who even half compares to the quality of player smith and warner/watson are at #3. I could MAYBE see cummins or agar for mcgrath depending on the pitch but even that is a bit of a longshot.

Smith barely gets in the side now, and you've left out Finch who's one of the greatest T20I bats ever. Other than that done pretty well though

Mike Hussey and Matt Hayden unlucky to miss out, ATG players
Ross Taylor would be our best ODI batsman and one of our best test batsmen, but struggled in T20s. I'd rather have Munro any day. Scotty Styris would be a better option too.

Picking Malan in an ATG T20 team is like picking Voges in an ATG Test team. Except Voges was actually a much better cricketer

If you regard Barnes as a spinner you could pick Barnes and O’Reilly.
