The ATG Teams General arguing/discussing thread

I do find it odd that watson spends so much time soaking up knowledge about things such as who the third best South African bowler of the 1940s was but knows so little about what's going on right now sometimes, but each to their own.
I guess you know that you have arrived on CW when people actually take notice (I was going to say 'care' but that would be completely wrong) of your personal likes and dislikes.

Quite touched really

Who do you rate as the three best Saffer bowlers of the 40s then Watson?

Then we can see how they stand up against PEWS' opinion

I'd say Athol Rowan, Lindsay Tuckett and either Tufty Mann or Cuan McCarthy

Athol Rowan, because any bowler who has Len Hutton as his bunny has to be good.

Has anyone tried to make an ATG Women's XI yet?
No, because we're all ***ist bastards.

I had a crack at an Australian one before but realised I didn't have a clue about anything pre-1998 so would be utterly useless at it.

I haven't seen enough cricket to make a full eleven, but here's a scrambled list of my favorite players for their aesthetically good play:

Steve Waugh
Viv Richards
Brian Lara
Richard Hadlee
Shane Warne
Dale Steyn
Murali

Sure you don't mean Mark there?
I've heard a few people say Steve was rather rugged as a batsman but I liked something about his play which I can't at this minute remember, but something stands out. I'll try to remember what exactly it was.

Comments on Lara's AT West Indies XI??

Gayle
Haynes
Richie Richardson
Sir Viv
Clive Lloyd (c)
Gary Sobers
Dujon
Marshall
Holding
Ambrose
Garner

Think he covered most bases there... Really good looking side, although guess this is an ODI XI and not a test XI.. Just do not see blokes like the 3 Ws not make it above Richie R or Gayle etc..
