This is very interesting. Would probably add one more fast bowler instead of one of the two spinners.

I'd take Wasim in for Bedi too surely.
O yes, and swap Lloyd and Border in the order too...not because I rate Border higher as a batsman, but because their playing styles and strengths suit those positions.

Hmm, Tendulkar averages 51.35 as captain which is more than what Lloyd, Border, Gavaskar, Miandad and Richards averaged.

I have gone for better skippers for the openers.
Next, Wasim might try to spot fix. Bedi is more honest.
I think Border bats better with the tail. So he comes lower than big cat. Why do you think it would be better the other way?

His batting average as captain was good yeah, but that's not what the exercise was about, was it? I would remove Gavaskar and Gilly as well. And assuming only test captaincy is being discussed, Dhoni/Gilly have no business being near that side. Don't know what Lindwall is doing there either.
Smith/Taylor for Gavaskar. Border/Lloyd for Sachin. Flower for Dhoni/Gilly. Kapil/Walsh for Lindwall.

All such heavyweights. And arguably Border and Lloyd were better captains, if not ambassadors, of the game.
