Is McDermott injured, or did they just take him out of the attack, after nick-a-ton hit him for a few boundaries?

Sydney Sixers could beat Australian T20 team, says Stuart Clark | The Courier-Mail

Quote:
Clark objected to the Australian team presented to him, saying: "Where's Brad Hodge? I'd have him in there. And I'd have Travis Birt because he's been dynamic for Tasmania. I think it's pretty obvious who'd you leave out.

Pretty funny really.

Its a no contest between Starc, Lee, Cummins and Hazlewood vs Hilfenhaus, McKay, Hogg and Doherty (the 4 the article selected). The gap is massive.

Reckon Hazlewood is a huge chance of representing Australia* this summer in the shorter formats.

*Injury permitting.

Tom Cooper dropped for the shield match tomorrow at Adelaide, Peter George comes back, as does Klinger. How on earth did Cooper get on that A tour to England earlier this year? A few months later and DROPPED, a tad embarrassing.

Jesse Hogan @Jesse_Hogan

Next week's Tas-SA & Vic-WA Shield matches have been shifted to start day earlier, Thur-Sun instead of Fri-Mon, to aid 1st Test preparation.

As @SixersBBL still entrenched in @clt20 Qld-NSW will stay Fri-Mon, but Test squad players will be excused from day 4 (already in Bris too).

Henry got a ton in the 2nd XI match v Vic. Responding to his dropping from the Great Team, the Sixers, in style.

Runs at Bankstown trump all.

Reckon the NSW shield side at full strength would beat the Australian Test team without the NSW players. Clearly NSW have been carrying Australia since 1877.

We'd no doubt pick a stupidly balanced team. We'd probably end up with:

1. Warner
2. Watson
3. Maddinson
4. Clarke
5. Smith
6. Haddin
7. Henriques
8. O'Keefe
9. Starc
10. Cummins
11. Hazlewood

against:

1. Cowan
2. Hughes
3. Ponting
4. Hussey
5. Bailey
6. Christian
7. Wade
8. Siddle
9. Pattinson
10. Hilfenhaus
11. Lyon

Hmmm.

If we still had Hughes, Katich and Khawaja, AWTA.

Now no.

A NSW-born side could do it though.
