Why Mott? What about Bills, Conway or Tremain? Nice to see Rohrer back playing for the Sydney Sixers.

No idea Bondi Burger, but its nice to see Copeland playing at a level befitting his ability.

Wish there was a Shield match or a few more futures matches on at the moment.

Howard said Holland was retained ahead of the in-form batsman Aaron Finch for Victoria's Shield fixture against Queensland at CA's behest
Not surprising in itself, but probably a new development that they are prepared to be so open about it.

Tas 210 Dunk 210* Cazzulino 89,356 lead.

The NSW and Vic 2ND XL game is not a Futures cup game,Shane Watson has been slated to play Canberra Comets in NSW first Futures game.

For selectors on holland, they need a decent look at him moreso for the Ashes, otherwise Glenn Maxwell may play in place of him.

Australia Cricket News: Victoria coach Greg Shipperd wants 12-a-side in Sheffield Shield | ESPN Cricinfo

Thoughts ?

While I understand his view point, I'm not sure if 4-day cricket should go that route. One of the great things in cricket is having selection dilemma's. Also taking into account possible conditions for your selection. Something like this will also take the all-rounder out the game.

We tried it in one-day cricket and it was ****e.

Those to miss out should just bite the bullet.

It also should be an achievement for any youngster or player to be picked in your domestic sides First XI !

It's a ridiculous suggestion.

If they feel like they have more than 11 players who are pushing for Australian test selection then fmd, offload some of them to the states who are lacking similar numbers. Players like Finch, McDonald etc may be solid players but if they are not in your best XI then they miss out, simple as that. And if they miss out then clearly the state doesn't consider them good enough for test cricket.

If they think every state is in the same boat then introduce a 7th team.

South Australia. They need anyone they can get their hands on at the moment.

Introduce a loan system, where players can be loaned for month to a season. Problem solved.

How much better would SA look with guys like Rohrer, Patterson, Finch, Hill and Keath.

Conway has back issues out for a while. Tremain has a side strain I think it is and is out for a little while(could be back soon as he hasn't played since Grade week 1 round 1 I think). Bills is serving a 2 game Second XI suspension for drink driving issue.
