Possibly been done before, but it's an interesting exercise. Has some flaws, but overall gives a good indication of the best players from each era.

Not a lot of argument there, except that I've never thought of Clive Lloyd as being an 80s batsman. The 70s was really his decade. By the 80s he was pretty much the grandaddy of the Windies team.

Maurice Leyland is comfortably greater than Eddie Paynter, as dashing as Paynter was. The reason being that Leyland dominated the greatest of bowler of his era and possibly of all time depending on how nostalgic you are - Bill O'Reilly. By O'Reilly's own admission, Leyland was too good for him.
