New Pakistan bowling coach, Mohammad Sami....before Mohammad Sami

Couldn't they find anybody better?

Yeah we don't crap in the first world; most of us would actually have no idea what that was emanating from Ajmal's backside. Why isn't it roses and rainbows like what happens here? PEWS's retort to Ganeshran on Daemon's picture depicting Ajmal's excreta

Pakistan never had good fast bowlers. Want to take from India?

unfair on Akram to compare him to Sami he was never given a proper run and when he played was used horribly, he took a fifer at Perth and then was subsequently dropped from the next series a lot of 90's fast bowlers like Akran, Zahid and Shahid Nazir have said that the two W's got in secured when they saw a promising upcoming pacer and would there best to get them unsettled even Shoaib echoed this though he did say it was up to these fast bowlers to make a name on their own like he did.

The 2 Ws may have felt insecure but Makram wasn't too flash either. Mohd Sami has more five fers than this guy if a 5fer at perth is your criteria

Not too dissatisfied with the appointment. Mohammad Akram has been in England for quite a while and from having heard him on commentary a few times seems like he has a decent enough brain. Also he was in an around the international team during his playing days so I'm sure he has a wealth of experience. In an ideal world would have loved Wasim Akram to have taken up the position but he's "too busy" atleast Mohammad Akram seems like the kinda guy who's going to put in the hard yards. Would much prefer someone like that rather than someone doing it to fill the celebrity void left in their life ala Shoaib. Very Misbah esque appointment, good luck to him and hope he does well.

AWTA he has always come across very well in commentary. Be interesting to see how he gets on. People need to remember that some of the best coaches weren't actually the best bowlers in their day and to almost write him off before he gets a chance is a bit unfair.

Is this an argument in favor of Sami being the English coach?

If he is a good coach then I don't care who it is and how bad a player he was. Saker and Gibson were hardly brilliant players were they and they have done better than ok as bowling coaches for England.

Another perspective is if the bowler the coach coaches is s***t no coach can help either good or bad..Remember Cooley ..he was a genius in England but a big dud in Aus..Akram will never improve Sami's skill but he might make Junaid great...

I'm happy at Mohammad Akram being the new bowling coach. I think he was a good new ball bowler and that's where our bowlers are having a problem. The only other candidate who might have been better was Pont.
