What bat do you use?

Was using the Steve Waugh sig MRF

....before it started to show its age and I bought an Impala Redback

The latter I only used for half a season before injury and then too busy with work, etc. to play since. Insanely powerful bat, 3lbs but picks up sweetly. Anyone wants it, PM me. Looks sad sitting in my closet.

3 pounds?! I've only ever heard of Sachin toting something like that, did you get it custom made? Never seen a three-pounder on the shelf even in specialist cricket shops.

Btw, looking at this ****.

Last chance to talk me out of it before I mosey on down to Kingsgrove.

It's not the heaviest bat I own, believe it or not, anyone remember when Gray-Nics was doing the Titan series? I snaffled one at a hefty 3lbs 5oz and the range went up to 3'8! Ridiculous weight and the pull shot is out of the question against anyone above meds but damn if it didn't pound the bejesus out of the ball.

The Salix is very handsome.

Mine is an old (around 98 vintage I think) V100 long blade.

1120g (2lb 7.5oz)

Great for pulling and cutting and they stay hit if I middle it, but a bit dead nearer the edges.

Back to the woodworm hard drive after I broke my Newbery Thruxton a few weeks back.

I have the $295 version of this:

Only 2lb7, so nice and light to play the cross batted shots with.

My Dad has a Duncan Fearnley that's around 3lb5. Massive.

I bought a 3lb 2 oz big kahuna. I couldn't play any cut shots or pull shots.

So I took sand paper and a wood working thingamebob and made a scoop in the back to take some weight off. This was the dumbest idea I have ever had because the balance of the bat got screwed because I am not a professional. So faced between admitting defeat and buying a new bat or trying to turn lead into gold I continued to sand away and eventually by pure luck I got the balance right.

Now that bat is a beauty.

Went and got exactly the same brand as Hurricane, though it's only 2lb 7oz.

Who the **** plays forward on astroturf decks, anyway?
