Thought of getting some cheap runs against NZ on flat decks before retiring, rather than ending it after the disgraceful showing against Australia, aye?

The type of player who highlights why test cricket will always be the ultimate. The type of player whose runs were almost always valuable to India. The type of player who would get out carelessly in a dead match. The type of player who can look like genius and schoolboy in the same over. The type of player who can hit Shane Warne's leg breaks all over the park, but get out to a Simon Katich full toss. The type of player who while not as good as Dravid or Sachin had something unqiue and offered something different to them.

Vvs Laxman you are a legend.

Was a legend in his own right and his 281 rightfully is counted among the best innings ever played. Will miss his reassuring presence in the late middle order. Was such a gutsy player, sad that he goes out on the back of 8 overseas tests lost. Screaming at Ojha in the Mohali test will remain in memory for long. (A massive turnaround for him, considering how Sachin screamed at his running in that desert storm match)

awe.. was hoping he'd stick around till the end of Aus series next year. Oh well, probably the right decision in the end. Closing off at his home ground would be pretty special. A 100 would be nice =D
