The funny thing is that the Thunder have a way better team this year than last year. That's how bad they were last year.

Wouldn't complain at all if Richardson played some limited overs cricket for Australia this summer. The bloke bowled a genuinely world class spell the other night and he's backed it up with another very good one. A lot of Australia's young bowlers haven't developed their LO games as quickly as their FC games so it'd great to get him in the mix.

The only thing is, he hasn't played much Shield yet and hasn't had any real success there, so for his long-term development as a player you could definitely argue that he could do without getting pulled out of Shield games to play one dayers. That said, SA don't pick him in their Shield side anyway...

A lot of that probably has to do with the fact that a lot of the matches have been horrendous to watch

Best bit of the article:

Fox Sports, which will bid to retain the BBL rights, is understood to be content with the ratings despite the slide, having also used its coverage of the competition to bump up subscriber numbers. The 237,000 average national audience is still streets ahead of any other Foxtel show, although very low by free-to-air standards. To offer some perspective, a repeat of Swamp People, an American reality series about Louisiana natives who hunt alligators for a living, had 232,000 watching when it ran on 7Mate last Thursday.

i don't think CA will be too concerned over pre-holiday figures. assuming of course 2 weeks of games before the holidays is not the norm
