Tugaga is a bit left field, where is Friday?

Hutchison will need to keep it tight with both Kugs and Tugaga playing. Got a wicket each so far though. Good opportunity for Tugaga, 3 (maybe 4 if Friday injured?) bowlers ahead of him in the queue falling over.

I've heard Friday is really fast, he also has a contract but never seems to get a game.

Auckland need some Dean Bartlett. I would back his pace and bounce, and nagging areas to have gotten through this Canterbury tail. Both bowling openers hitting the ton, no Munro, and CdG as 3 rd seamer.

De Boorder at 5, with his off breaks in for Mustard. Bartlett in for Singh. Maybe I'll eat my hat in day 4 though ....
This selection for this match just doesn't cut the mustard ... (I'll get my coat ..)

Boam and Friday, under Siddons. Thou shalt not play.

But to be fair maybe he's injured, and Boam hasn't taken his few chances this year (and it always seems to be the captain who is out if form, Elliot last year & Murdoch this year, so hard to drop)

I'm originally from wellington but I want to see a massive partnership here.

I also want to see Ryder play a tight innings against a good bowling attack.

Good game for Andrew thus far. Getting declared on not far shy of a double-ton must be a little bit galling though.

Jeets

Wouldn't be surprised if both Williamson and Flynn tried to cut one that was too close

The first five all caught by Ronchi. Meanwhile, Auckland are crumbling. de Grandhomme a bit disapointing this season so far.

It'll be both I think. Pretty hard to get caught behind by an offspinner when you're not cutting.

Good to see jeets in the wickets.

Is this the best ever season for lower order batsmen? They've had more 100's than top 4 batsmen! If Andrew can come that close to getting a double-ton, you've got to ask serious questions. Looks like the adrenalin of the knock has overcome any weary limbs he had, as he's opened up with his best bowling spell of the season to follow it up.

I've seen the "your turn..now yours" NZ 'keeping situation as a simple game of musical chairs to pass the time whilst awaiting Ronchi's availability.

Reece Young-why is he playing as a specialist batsman still? He's having a terrible run of form: how can he still be justifying his place?

I'm having trouble with Lamb, Badenhorst and an in-pain Small getting picked ahead of Mathieson for ND, too.

From the limited amount that I've seen, Reece Young is the best keeper in the country.

I would actually prefer he was picked ahead of Watling.

Uni Oval after hours of rain, I can see what they're probably angling for with Badenhorst. The more Hawke Cup two-dayer the play gets, the more he'll relish it.

Southee 61*, oh ****, here we go.

I doubt it - this is par for the course with NZ cricket (as has frequently been reflected in the national side). Top 5 are just there to take the shine off the ball before the engine room 6-9 come in to score the runs .

Ergkh, or it's just a simple game of musical chairs that will stop....... when there are no more untried options left in the country. So probably 3 years from now and the last man standing will be.... Michael Bracewell.
