Get upped overnight. I'll do three short videos, Canty's late slump, Johnston and McCord's wickets, Sinclair's play and misses vs. Dane Hutchinson.

Fair Dues.

That in itself seems an odd decision - his record really isn't that flash. I don't think it's ideal to have a captain with question marks over their place in the side.

And Johnston is new to me - what does he bowl and is he any good?
Played for NZ U19s in the world cup we hosted at the start of 2010. Was also the Young Cricketer to Lords in that same year I believe.

Good bowler, don't think he's known for turning it massive though. Has always been handy in limited overs stuff.

I'm glad McCord has got a couple of wickets. With Rankin now English, there's a vacancy in the Irish bowling ranks-and Trent Johnston can't be going on for much longer. McCord was the pick of the Irish "A" bowlers in 2011, so a decent season in New Zealand has got to put him in with a shout of a full call-up. Which could obviously in turn cause problems for his selection in New Zealand domestic cricket.

Murtagh should be able to fill that gap for a bit. It's Johnston's retirement as you mentioned that will really test their depth though.

Funny fella, Murtagh-never really does great in OD/T20. I still can't believe Ireland don't pick him more, though. I get the feeling he gets punished for being a bit of an opportunist qualifier. Whatever happened to Peter Connell? He was looking OK but disappeared off the cricketing map last year. EDIT: ah, here he is: http://www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/sp...-16169903.html

And it sounds like Trent is giving it one more year: http://www.cricketeurope4.net/DATABA...7/001747.shtml

Back on topic-so Ryder is considered Wellington's 4th seamer ahead of Elliott, eh? I'd have expected Elliott to bowl a few overs at least unless he has a knock that's preventing him from bowling.

Can Cribb be banned from this thread? I like my Domestic Discussion Sinclair and Cribb-free, thanks.

Shouldn't you be bumping the *Official* New Zealand Domestic Cricket Season 1994/95 thread to make yet another post about Lee ****ing Germon about now?

Not now that Adam Wheater will be playing in this. For the first time, I'll be backing ND when they're not playing Wellington. So, back to the modern day, thanks. WHICH, coincidentally, means there's no need to waste bandwidth on Mathew Sinclair.

Although any news on Mike Garnham would be welcomed.

Yeah pulled out halfway through an over.. Doesnt sound great. Canterbury having a bit of a fight back.

Anyone know much about Henry Nicholls? 20yo, didnt make U/19s but has made a good start to his career.

Nice to see Rutherford getting more runs, shame he couldnt get another century. Not often do young batsman get consistant hundreds in this country.

Wagner got hit on the head by a ball in warm-ups. Tried to soldier on but it's been giving him grief, so he went off. Nothing too serious.
