*Official* New Zealand Domestic Cricket Season 2012/2013

Not Terrible
No, the 'Pollard to No. 3 in first-class!' idea didn't work out so good. Ronchi really had to bat at six here.
Elliott will be getting some game time though, which would presumably push Ronchi down the order (shouldn't though).

Ronchi is unavailable Day 4:

Substitutes: GD Elliott replaces HKP Boam on Days 3 & 4. Boam replaces L Ronchi on Day 4. D H Fulton replaces TWM Latham on Day 4

That's a bloody mess. I really don't like allowing substitutes for First Class matches. Either you're available all match or not FFS.

Yeah not a fan. Boam starting, getting replaced and then replacing someone else a day later is just crazy.

Draw? Pfft. Jarvis is gonna bowl us to victory tomorrow.
Getting in close and popping it on a length won't work on this ground or in this scenario tbf. Actually really clever strategy from this pair, they've realised Auckland will chase anything and a red hot chance to crudely slog themselves into oblivion.

 That's ridiculous.
Partially due to a warm up 20:20 for England, isn't it? Yes, be accommodating to the touring team, but give priority to our First Class system FFS. Schedule the warm up more appropriately or select some chumps to play instead of Ronchi/Latham.

What a joke.

It would be acceptable for a three-day warmup v England imo but for a T20 it's a little ridiculous.

Verma has only had one match and looks seriously pedestrian once he runs out of puff. Ish is still pretty average at this stage of his career, and Baker is just filler. Also missing Aldridge which is a big blow for them. Its not a poor bowling attack, but its a long way off ND's usual standards.
Ex hillcrest student and plays for FTCC therefore is awesome imo

Redmond would be the other option, he seems like a character
I wouldn't discount the smarter yet less acclaimed younger cousin of a test jock for some internet snark tbf.

Not really, not this season anyhow. Aldridge has been struggling all year with his fitness, picked up a dirty 5fer on a green track against Canterbury early on but other than that he's been next to hopeless. Down on pace and he's lost the zip he had a couple of seasons ago, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he retired at seasons end.

You know what, considering Craig's 21, Howsie wasn't just being Howsie. Best part is when he starts pounding his straight drive about 1:30 in, sending Small and Jarvis down the ground.
He screams future international cricketer imo, you just have to watch him for five minutes and you can see that. Both his older bros look like nothing more than a couple of domestic plodders.

The man must have a left shoulder of steel, that's for sure. He can't play the short ball. He knows it, everyone not living under a rock knows it, yet no-one's managed to exploit it. Yeah it's domestic cricket but if Andy ****ing Ellis can scare him surely he'd be a goner by now if he didn't have something extra.
