He is a loss in the fact he will be bloody hard to replace whether it was today or after the series.I wouldnt say LOSS for SA as he was going to hang his boots by the end of this year...

Also good luck to the replacement playing straight away in England. Boucher's experience would've been invaluableHe is a loss in the fact he will be bloody hard to replace whether it was today or after the series.
Yeah, not just for the batting as we have seen numerous keepers struggle with late swing etc when they have the gloves on.Also good luck to the replacement playing straight away in England. Boucher's experience would've been invaluable
Only 998 as Keeper though. Good job he never took one more, imagine the stat wars.holy **** he's the bradman of keeping.
999 dismissals combined
Yeah, that is the question. Looks like Tsolekile in the short termWho's gonna replace him?
Hopefully it is drilled into him that it was a freak accident and he is blameless. Could get to him though as he is a new boy on the block. I am sure though that the old heads of the team are making sure he doesn't dwell too much on it as he is not at fault at all.I wonder what Tahir is feeling, he is quite an emotional chap - hopefully someone has sat down with him.
You obviously haven't watched any of the videos of the incident...Would have been nice to have seen him go out with a bang.

Even if you turn a blind eye to his phenominal stats, his career is one I'm sure he'll look back on with fondness.
Saw him being wheeled through Cape Town airport this morning, hung around after a flight of my own.. Looked completely dejected and apparently we won't know about his sight for weeks..Very sad way to end it all. But as his team mates rightly pointed out its bigger than cricket now.
Any new news on his recovery yet?
