If you want in, I'll put you in the next draft. Top 2 go up into the Draft League proper, and the bottom 2 of their draft come in here.

Ankit, may I suggest Herbie Collins.

Cabinet -> Camo -> rvd (x2)

Reckon Cabinet may have timed out by now.

I'll go for Kumar Shri Duleepsinhji if he's still available.

Team currently as follows:

Barnes
Grace
Duleep
Mead
Trumper
Ponsford
Constantine
Spofforth
Martindale
Strudwick
Ironmonger

I'll take Cyril Washbrook and Walter Robbins to round out my XI.
  1. Bruce Mitchell [6]
  2. Cyril Washbrook
  3. Clem Hill
  4. Walter Hammond [5]
  5. Maurice Leyland
  6. Martin Donnelly
  7. Monty Noble [3] c
  8. George Hirst [2]
  9. Jack Blackham +
  10. Harold Larwood [1]
  11. Clarrie Grimmett [4]
(Walter Robbins)

Robbins to play if the pitch turns, otherwise George Hirst will open the bowling with Larwood, and Bruce Mitchell acts as a second spinner. If Robbins plays, that honour passes to Noble, with Hammond acting as a third seamer.

Nice lineup RVD.

Similarly Bernie Bosanquet can come into my squad and play in the event of a rank turner, however I'll back the three pronged pace attack of Martindale, Spofforth and Constantine in most cases.

SG Barnes
*WG Grace [5]
KS Duleepsinhji
CP Mead
VT Trumper
WH Ponsford
LN Constantine [3]
FR Spofforth [2]
EA Martindale [1]
+H Strudwick
H Ironmonger [4]

BJT Bosanquet (12th)

Well, what was supposed to be the most straightforward pick has surprisingly turned into the most difficult one I've had to make in this draft. I had no idea this player was eligible, but now that I know he is, I simply have to pick him.

I also figured that it's a bit redundant to have three bowlers in the team who all spin it in the same direction, even if they're very different types of bowlers. And, well, Faulkner and Macartney aren't going anywhere, so it'll have to be Mailey who makes way.

Dies Irae CC
  1. Vijay Merchant
  2. Stewie Dempster
  3. Charles Macartney (6)
  4. Lindsay Hassett
  5. Douglas Jardine (c)
  6. Aubrey Faulkner (5)
  7. Les Ames (wk)
  8. Maurice Tate (1)
  9. Bill Voce (4)
  10. Jack Cowie (2)
  11. Tom Richardson (3)

12th man: Arthur Mailey (will replace either Voce or Richardson on rank turners)

Loving that attack.

Good value to grab in Round 12.

Yes, I was surprised to note that he was available. I could in fact put him in first XI but don't want to replace any of the three middle order bats, don't want to play one bowler less, and not sure if I should have a non specialist opener. What would you do if you had my 12?

Ankit, I'd play Jackson at 6 if I had your XI and play Gregory at 7 - ditch Peel or Freeman IMO.

I wish you could change your numbers 9 and 10 around, just to make whoever reads out your team say "Ferris, Peel".
