Because certain players will fill more than one 'clause'.

That's where the strategy comes in - you have to plan and adapt, and it could go pear-shaped if you use up selections wrongly

Definitely disagree. You should definitely get an advantage for picking a player that fits into most of the categories, as it gives you flexibility.

But you'll have the same advantage if you use your broader picks sparingly at the start of the draft

But surely you'd want those who perhaps wouldn't usually get picked in Round 1, to get picked then, because of their usefulness and flexibility in fitting into many clauses? I think your idea will result in a picking order very similar to that of Season 1, personally.

Don't think we should have relegation immunity tbh. If the league leader ballses up badly enough to be relegated then its their fault. They shouldn't just get to stay up and be able to compete for points again the following season, they should have to have a spell in.the reserves and show they're better than everyone in the league below.

If we must, then for each season the league leader or league leader + previous season winner should be immune. With each person only being able to play the immunity card once before they're relegated.

Totally agreed, I'm not a fan of the idea of immunity, if you come last you go down IMO.

Gives the person who gets first pick an unfair advantage. Say what you want about Sobers or Imran going first if he's banned, but as Eds proved, you can easily win without them

How about the idea that I floated to you. One could pick Bradman, but if you do you defer your pick in the next round until after the draft. That would even things out and include strategy, and also mandate that he would have to be picked in one of the first two rounds.
Bradman played the game like everyone else, in this format no one may choose him, but at least we are given a choice.

Sorry mate, the amount of high-quality players that are still around at round 12 will make it unfair still.

What about whoever selects Bradman automatically has to select history's worst test cricketer to have played more than five tests (I'm not sure who that would be....)
    Gavaskar - Hutton - Bradman - Tendulkar - Sobers - Gilchrist - Miller- Hadlee - Warne - Lillee - Murali

    Awata.

    Going from say

Richards Hobbs (both r1 of the 1st draft)

    to say

Bradman Laxman (not picked in the current draft -- I'd expect to see a similar degree of reduction in the next draft) is a bit of a no brainer.
